Last Thursday (11th Oct.), the Year 8 hockey team played their first 11 a side match of the season against John Spence.  In a very competitive game both sides played well in parts but lacked any goal scoring opportunities.  At half time the scores were even at 0-0, but John Spence started the second half with more attacking play and a quick break caught the Marden defence sleeping, resulting in 1-0 lead. Although the Marden players responded well, they could not put the ball into the John Spence goal and the final score remained a 1-0 win to the home team.
