At Marden High we would like all of our students to have a passion for language and more specifically, language learning. We endeavour to create an environment in which students can see the benefits of being able to communicate in another language and place importance on our role in the global community.

All students study French from Year 7 to Year 9, picking up German as a second language in Year 8. We then encourage as many students as possible to extend their language journey to GCSE. We also offer a Russian club for those students who wish to develop their MFL skills even further. Through the study of a foreign language, here at Marden, students are able to develop and consolidate their analytical and evaluative skills; skills of significant value in the world of work today.
