YEAR 9 BOYS – 3 : 5 – YEAR 10 BOYS

In a tense friendly between Year 9 and Year 10 which involved 3 x 20 minutes, the Year 9s went 1-0 up early, a Josh Thewlis free kick was saved by the keeper before Brogan Heads tapped it in.

Neither team had kicked off their season yet, so it was a good run out for both sides, and the Year 9 boys went into a shock 2-0 lead, debutant Stephan Scotland crossed in from the right to find Laurence Taylor who beat the last defender to volley the ball in off the bar, his second goal in two games continuing from last season’s finish against the current Year 8s.

By the 1st interval though the Year 10s had got themselves level and they went 4-2 up in the next twenty minutes.  Josh Thewlis pulled one back with a fantastic goal to give the Year 9s hope but the Year 10s reclaimed their 2 goal cushion with a last second goal to make it 5-3.
