UPDATE:

We’ve had our editorial meeting and here are some of the reports that we are looking to cover today:

1. Weather – A frozen lake has been discovered underground in Antarctica, and we’re facing a bit of a freeze here in Cullercoats as well!

2. Sport – Both the North East teams have been struggling during this season’s Premiership campaign; Sunderland won last night, but will Newcastle sell one of their star Senegalese strikers in the transfer window? Also, the debate about racism in football rages on…

3. Nelson Mandela – A global story about the former South African president’s condition as he remains unwell in hospital.

4. Suicide of nurse – The story surrounding the recent Royal pregnancy has been overshadowed by the tragic suicide of a nurse following a radio station’s prank phone call; what are Marden students views on how this story has developed?

5. Twitter – Do you use Twitter? Emily, Lucy and Olivia are looking to report on the impact the social networking site has on our lives here at Marden.

6. Takeover Day – Just one of the many exciting events that we have had recently here at Marden, we were also recently visited by former Newcastle United player Robbie Elliott, who cycled around Europe for the Bobby Robson Foundation.
