It was another awesome day in New York yesterday for the staff and students of Marden High, taking in the sights of the immense skyscrapers around us as we began with a stroll to Rockefeller Plaza, off 5th Avenue. There we took in a tour and travelled up 70 floors to the observation deck at the Top of the Rock, taking in the views of the immense Manhattan city skyline.
We took a bit of time walking around Rockefeller Plaza and the surrounding shops before getting the Subway to 14th Street and visiting the iconic Chelsea Market for lunch, where preparations are in order for tonight’s Halloween parade. We then walked the High Line to Macy’s and did some more shopping.
The day was then rounded off by an evening meal at the Hard Rock Cafe before an evening show – Matilda at the Shubert Theatre, just down the street from our hotel on 44th.
Today’s plan is to visit Central Park, the surrounding shops, buildings and museums and then we fly home late tonight.
