This week, Marden High have been participating in The Big Draw Festival 2021.
The Big Draw is a registered charity, founded in 2000 to raise the profile of drawing as a tool for wellbeing, thought, creativity and engagement.
Each year, across the world, events are held, encouraging people of all ages and backgrounds to have fun drawing, and this year we have got involved! The theme is #makethechange which explores the world we live in. For more details please CLICK THIS LINK.
The activities that took place this week included:
- Create your own drawing (open to all staff and students – each entry handed in on Google Classroom receives 50 house points).
- Tutor Group Challenge (Years 7-9 creating their own drawing based on the theme #makethechange during Personal Development on Tuesday. Staff and students will be given a chance to vote for their favourite from each year group and the winners’ artwork will be displayed in school with each tutee receiving 50 merits).
- Classroom Challenge (ALL students were given at least ONE opportunity throughout the week to use drawing as a tool for exploration in lessons, with this week’s Work of the Week having a drawing focus.
Well done to everyone who contributed and thank you for taking part!
