We had the first of a series of career presentations planned for this term aimed at giving our KS4 students a broad outline of possible career paths available to them after leaving Marden. The presentations will give a better understanding of potential work and progression routes in a range of diverse areas such as Software design, Engineering, Media, Sales, Transportation, Medicine, Travel industry etc.
The first presentation focused on the opportunities available in the Armed Forces.

Thank you to everyone for making our annual Christmas Jumper Day so much fun. There was also a lunchtime quiz and doughnuts sold throughout the day from the main office.
£842.90 was raised which will be donated to the MS Society. The Marden Bake Off was also a tremendous success. And the winners were…

Well done to everyone who contributed to our bake sale on Thursday. £67.43 was raised in total for the Cat and Dog Shelter Appeal.
A group of Year 7 students have been taking part in a Spanish club every Wednesday lunchtime. On Wednesday 14th December they visited El Torero in Newcastle to sample some authentic Spanish tapas and put their language skills to the test. All students used the knowledge they have gained over the term, ordering and communicating in Spanish in what was a fantastic cultural opportunity for them all.
There has been a fantastic response to the Making Winter Warmer appeal by Marden students. Form classes have been collecting items to donate to the homeless charity based in Newcastle, and today some Year 9 students organised the packs ready to donate. Thank you to everyone who donated items.
