“Be the Light in the Darkness”
The North Tyneside 2021 Holocaust Memorial Events
Each year in North Tyneside we collectively remember the Holocaust and subsequent genocides, both past and present. Due to the global pandemic this year our events have been created virtually and in line with national guidance. As ever the Holocaust Working group have spent the last year liaising with North Tyneside schools and various other organisations in order to further develop awareness and impact of the Holocaust, and to share the message of this year’s theme “Be the light in the Darkness”.

One thing is clear, that by working together in these challenging times we can still keep the flame alive to remember events of the past as well as the present, and in particular the Holocaust and subsequent genocides. We must ensure that stories continue to be shared and the impact of these events are never forgotten. In this way, for all those in despair we can all try to “Be the light in the Darkness”.
