Well done to our 56 Year 9 students in the Alpha group, who successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award expedition on Monday and Tuesday.
Over 2 days and 1 night, they showed great resilience, teamwork, and determination. We are incredibly proud of their achievement.

Marden High has been a School of Sanctuary since 2023 and last Thursday we were visited by North Tyneside’s Schools of Sanctuary Team. They came to meet the students involved and talk to them about all the work they do around school.
They applauded the efforts made by students to create a culture of welcome at Marden High. They were very impressed by all their hard work; delivering assemblies; creating personal development lessons; fundraising and raising awareness on issues of forced migration and asylum. They were delighted to re-accredit Marden High as a School of Sanctuary for another three years!
As our Year 8 students prepare for Year 9, they have been experiencing GCSE practicals to develop new skills and build confidence for the next stage of their learning journey.
Well done to all students for their enthusiasm and engagement!
On Tuesday, eight Year 10 students attended a one-day conference at Northumbria University, marking the culmination of a six-month Orbyts project that linked our students with university Masters students.
The day included a Space Lab tour, poster presentations, guest speakers, and certificate presentations, celebrating the students’ hard work and achievements throughout the project. 🚀 🎓

With the money raised from our recent talent show, Marden’s Got Talent, our cabinet chose to donate to Mountain Rescue England and Wales – £477 was raised, & the team visited school today to thank students & give a talk about how their money will be used! Thank you!

The Cyber Girls First event, held yesterday, is an exciting event consisting of a day of workshops on technology and cybersecurity for girls aged 12-14. The event is organised by Accenture, and had guest speakers from Create Future, JP Morgan and Enigma Interactive.
The day consisted of a series of fun, engaging sessions based around code breaking, code making and creativity. The sessions were delivered by female tech experts in the industry. Year 9 students Kayleigh and Penny both came second in a code breaking activity and won bluetooth speakers. Well done to everyone who took part!
Our #DofE Centre Manager for 2026/27, Mrs Russell, was invited to Buckingham Palace over half term to celebrate 70 years of the #DukeofEdinburgh award! 🏆
