In honour of Stress Awareness Week 2021, we’re running a photography competition entitled ‘My Peaceful Place’.
We’d like you to send us a photograph you have taken that represents your ‘peaceful place’, somewhere you are able to find respite and tranquillity when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Images must be no larger than 1GB and should be submitted with a title and a short caption explaining the image’s significance (no more than 50 words). Email your entry to Miss Olbrecht or Mr Prytherch by 23rd November.

Our Y7 and 8 cookery club made Swiss Rolls this week. They learned that the secret to a perfect Swiss Roll is a thin sponge, well-whipped cream and lots of jam. Well done bakers!
Bikeability is ‘cycling proficiency’ for the 21st century, designed to give the next generation the skills and confidence to ride their bikes on today’s roads. Even though it was a staff training day, some Year 7 and 8 students came in and had a great time honing their cycling skills!
This Thursday 21st October we will celebrate WEAR RED DAY. Students are encouraged to wear red in support of anti-racism. Voluntary contributions will be donated to SHOW RACISM THE RED CARD.
Our partnership with Newcastle United Foundation continued on Friday as the Year 8s enjoyed workshops as part of our drive to deliver more careers-based lessons to Key Stage 3 students.
Year 8 students have been acting out scenarios in French, based on the poem by Jacques Prévert. They had to translate it into English and chose to express it in different ways, with some students creating comics and drawing sketches for The Big Draw, and others acting out a dramatic performance.
One of our many extra curricular sporting activities, Active Marden, has kicked off this term with great success, with Year 10 students coaching Year 7 and 8 students at netball!
