As we enter the Spring term, we would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year from Marden High School.

Four Marden students, who are Dance City performers, brought in the new year with style, Year 7s Hannah Yeoman and Hannah Warne, and Year 8s Sarah Cross and Charlotte Penfold all took part in Newcastle’s New Year’s Eve parade, welcoming in 2015 with a Rugby theme.

The Year 7 girls represented Tonga and the Year 8s South Africa, as the parade celebrated the upcoming 2015 Rugby World Cup, hosted by England. They started at the Monument & headed down Dean Street to the Quayside where the finale was a firework display, and they were a great credit to the school for the effort and commitment they have shown throughout all the rehearsals and during the big event itself on the evening.
