There have already been almost 200 fantastic nominations for the 2015 NTLT Star Awards from 22 schools – but more are needed! The closing date for nominations is growing closer and in particular we are looking for nominations for the Green, Inclusion, Leadership and Local Hero awards (please see examples below). Please help us find the young stars of North Tyneside and give them the recognition they deserve. The NTLT Star Awards 2015 are generously sponsored by local employers and remain open to all schools in North Tyneside. Anyone can make a nomination and every child nominated will be considered a winner in his/her own right and receive a certificate. 48 finalists, their families and Headteachers will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony at the Discovery Museum on 1st July and receive prizes worth almost £100 each!
– Green Award: To recognise a child or young person who pro-actively demonstrates care and concern for the environment and encourages others to do the same. 
Examples: Cycling to school, litter collection, educating others about protecting the environment.
 
– Inclusion Award: To recognise a child or young person who has demonstrated an understanding and acceptance of other people and actively promotes tolerance and cohesion.
Examples: Demonstrating diversity through creativity (e.g. poem or artwork), introducing a new idea to help include everyone, openly challenged prejudiced views.
 
 – Leadership Award: To recognise a child or young person who has demonstrated the qualities of leadership.
Examples: Sports team captain, lead role in setting up and running an after school club, lead role in making a major event happen (e.g. school prom).
 
– Local Hero Award:

To recognise a child or young person who has improved the lives of those around them in their community.

Examples:​ Helped someone in the community, an act of courage or bravery, made a difference to someone’s life.
