To celebrate International Women’s Day last week, some of our Year 10 Cabinet students prepared a remote assembly about important feminist icons throughout history. We would like to share that with our whole community here:

This half term the English Department are running an exciting Reading Competition that could win you your dream reading list for this summer!
Please submit all entries to Miss Laing by Monday 2nd July 2018.
Stuck for your next reading book? There are carefully curated reading lists for all year groups on the walls of the LRC and English corridor, as well as additional reading suggestions for individual subject areas. Look out for the ‘Marden Reads’ posters around school!
Thanks to all students who made cards in the LRC this week in support of Cullercoats Library.
All North Tyneside Libraries are facing cuts and closures due to council cuts and Marden High students have been showing their appreciation of books and reading by sending handmade cards to the library with messages inside of why they love to read.
Miss Seal took a total of 76 cards away with her on Friday and they are currently on display in Brown’s Salthouse in Cullercoats.
They will eventually be displayed either in the library or other local businesses so keep your eyes peeled!
Mrs. Potter is holding a Valentine’s Day Poetry Competition, open to all year groups. Please email her your submissions no later than Monday 5 February and winners will receive a Valentine’s themed prize.
Good luck!
The LRC will host a half price book fair between the 27th of November and the 3rd of December.
