Key Stage 3 students enjoyed an entertaining talk this morning from Dr. John Kilcoyne of Sunderland University, in which he demonstrated a variety of fun Science experiments.
Monday evening saw Marden’s U13s squad travel to Morpeth for their first games of the Northumberland league season.
In the first match against NCEA, the girls gave a fantastic team performance in what became a one-sided game, running out 12-0 victors after four excellent goals from Amy Feetham, braces from Makenzie Leck, Kate Hedworth and Daisy Rowe, and a goal each for Cait Robinson and Jasmine Hacioglu.
In their closely contested second match, the girls took on Cramlington Learning Village. With the score tied at 0-0 at half time, CLV were visibly growing in confidence and our girls were growing frustrated at their failure to break the deadlock. After using the break to calm down and regroup, the girls quickly took a 2-0 lead in the second half with goals from Makenzie Leck and Amy Feetham. Nerves kicked in again when Cramlington pulled a goal back towards the end of the match, but a 3-1 victory was sealed with a brilliant solo effort from Daisy Rowe.
