Dear Parent
If your child is considering sixth form courses in September, I am writing to invite you and your child to our annual Sixth Form Courses Evening to be held on Tuesday 13th December.
The aim of this event is to allow you to find out more about our courses and what it is like to study them. Teachers and current students from all the subject areas will be available to answer questions. Seasonal refreshments will also be available.
The evening will begin at 5.00 pm and finish at 7.00 pm. You can arrive any time but should allow for approximately one hour at the event.
We will be holding two brief presentations for all students and parents who are considering joining our Sixth Form from other schools. These presentations will take place in the school library at:
5.15 pm for students who have surnames beginning A – N
6.00 pm for students with surnames beginning O – Z.
This presentation will cover the application process, entry requirements, courses available and life in the Sixth Form at Whitley Bay High. When you arrive and register in the main foyer, one of our student guides will be on hand to escort you to the library.
This letter was administered by your child’s school and so we do not have your contact details. To ensure that you are kept up to date with information and our application process, please add your details to our mailing list by clicking Apply Now in the Sixth Form section of our website, or click here: Apply Now – Whitley Bay High School. This is without obligation and your details will be deleted if you opt not to join us in September.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. The school number is 0191 7317070, or email [email protected].
Yours sincerely
Mr Steve Williams
Director of Sixth Form
Assistant Headteacher
As your child considers their next educational steps we would like to invite you and them to come along to our Sixth Form Open Evening at Monkseaton High School on 23rd November 5-6.30pm.
We are a vibrant, local Sixth Form, large enough to offer a range of courses, in both A Levels and BTECs, but small enough to provide a personal and tailored Sixth Form experience. We pride ourselves on really getting to know each and every one of our students, ensuring that their time with us is both enjoyable and successful.
Please see the attached flyer regarding our Open Evening and then register your interest in attending here. If you are unable to attend our Open Evening but would like more information about studying at Monkseaton Sixth Form please email our Sixth Form Year Leader, Mrs Rachel Orr: [email protected]
As you are aware Ofsted conducted a short ‘Section 8’ inspection at the end of September this year at Marden. These new Ofsted Section 8 inspections are short inspections of schools currently judged as ‘Good’ and determine whether the school continues to provide a good standard of education and that safeguarding is effective. On this basis, a Section 8 inspection cannot result in an outstanding judgement. We are proud of our report and how it reflects our school community, and you can read the full report here.
