Entrepreneurs of the Future!

Marden Year 11 students travelled to Telford on Tuesday after being selected as finalists in the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2017 Challenge! Zoe Elliott, Harriet Taylor and Kieran Scott created a Christmas video for Ryman stationery and were shortlisted in the top 5 in this National competition!

They were invited to The National Enterprise Challenge as special guests and met successful entrepreneurs who shared tips and tricks. Harriet and Zoe met the hosts of the event, Sam and Mark from CBBC, as well as Team GB 2016 Olympic Champion Joe Clarke! #GEW2017 @_tnec

Remy Hits the Slopes

Year 9 student Remy Van Breugel is a talented skiier. On Saturday 1 July he competed in the English Championships in the Snow Zone in Castleford, finishing 2nd in the Under 16 category.
There was only 0.23 seconds between Remy and a first place finish, and he had the fifth quickest time overall out of 40 people. Well done Remy!

Work of the Week

Following on from last week’s ‘Work of the Week’, curriculum leaders have once again put forward a selection of superb submissions which continue to reflect the excellent work going on across all areas and all year groups.

Congratulations to Rebecca Langford, Lauren Kilday, Braydon White, Charlotte Kewin, Evan Walker, Tom Kilday, Aidan Clarke, Jasmine Riley, Lotte Tonneson-Wood, Jessica Beales, Miya Thomas, Ellie Mitcheson and Olivia Clarke for their excellent work this week.

Badminton Champions!

Congratulations to our winning badminton squad. Both the girls’ and boys teams recently won the Premier League 4 Sport Regional Competitions beating teams from Teeside, Durham, Sunderland, Sheffield and Hull.

Marden students Callum, Libby, Kyle, Jasmine, Ben and Joel (not pictured) were all part of the winning teams at this regional badminton event.

The players proved to be excellent ambassadors for the school as their attitude, sense of responsibility and level of commitment was acknowledged by others during the competitions.
