In line with Government guidance, students have been given a new supply of COVID test kits during registration this week.
LFD tests have been widely and successfully used to detect asymptomatic cases. Recent figures provided to us show that the level of accuracy is currently more than 80% effective at detecting any level of COVID 19 infection and likely to be more than 90% effective at detecting the most infectious people at the point of testing.
North Tyneside Council continues to recommend that household contacts of a positive case should carry out daily testing for 10 days following the positive PCR result. If your child finds themselves in this position, please let us know and we will provide additional test kits for them.
Once again we thank you for your support with this.
