A reminder that our two showings of Grease take place this week, on both Wednesday and Thursday evening! Tickets can still be purchased from the LRC.
Having monitored the situation and assessed all available information, weather conditions continue to be severe in our wider region, impacting on travel conditions. In addition, an amber weather warning has been extended until tomorrow morning. Therefore, in the interests of the safety of students and staff, school will be closed tomorrow. We are looking forward to seeing all our students and staff on Monday morning.
In the meantime, please encourage your children to use the online learning resources that all students have access to, such as Hegarty Maths and SAM Learning.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Update on Friday
Our World Book Day events, originally planned for Friday 2nd March, are to be rescheduled for Friday 9th March, to be certain we can enjoy the dressing up in better weather.
The weather conditions continue to be severe, in particular in outlying areas, and an amber warning has been extended until tomorrow morning. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and there will be an update on the website later today. I’m sure you’ll appreciate that we want to use the latest traffic and weather information and so the next update will be by 8pm.

Dear all
The information we have now gathered regarding weather and travel forecasts for tonight and tomorrow indicates that conditions will be extremely difficult and potentially dangerous tomorrow morning. Therefore, after careful consideration, we have made the decision to close the school on Thursday 1st March.
We are hoping to be open again on Friday 2nd March as weather forecasts currently indicate some improvement. There will be further updates on this website.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Rescheduled Year 9 Parents Evening
This morning, the severe weather conditions meant that members of the school community experienced extreme travel difficulties, with some unable to complete their journeys. The resultant shortage of staffing meant that despite every effort to keep the school open, we had to make the decision to close the school today, a decision which is never taken lightly.
Whilst again, we would want to keep school open, we are currently in the process of assessing the situation for tomorrow. The detailed information we have from the North Tyneside Council weather forecast source is indicating that conditions are not going to improve – more snow is forecast tonight with temperatures well below freezing. We want to be able to inform you of any decision to close the school tomorrow, if necessary, as soon as possible. However, you will appreciate that we also need to make that decision with the most up to date information, and so there will be further information on that decision later today on this website (by 9pm).

Due to adverse weather conditions, Marden High School is closed today (28/02/2018). We will re-assess the situation tomorrow and update our website with more information.
Unfortunately this means that the Year 9 Parents Evening is also cancelled and will be re-scheduled.
