The following students took part in the Beach Rugby event on Tynemouth Longsands. Competing against schools from all over Northumberland and Durham – the event was organised by Laura Coleman, RUFC Girls coordinator, with the aim to develop participation in the sport.
Marden entered 2 teams in the Under 13 Tag event and 1 team in the Under 15 Touch.
Considering how little rugby the girls have played in comparison to the other schools, all of our teams played exceptionally well and made great progress throughout the day. Many thanks also to Jordan who assisted.

Year 8 English Creative Writing Module
Year 8 English classes have been looking at the work of Arthur Conan Doyle, coming up with their own Sherlock Holmes-style crime stories. Following on from last year’s successful Who Bumped Off Brolly? mystery, they were inspired by the events of a staff-made video, Who Poisoned Perry?
…and after coming up with their own theories to produce a piece of creative writing, the mystery was eventually solved.
