Congratulations to Year 10 student Oscar, who was recognised at the recent ‘Spirit of North Tyneside’ awards. Elected mayor of North Tyneside, Norma Redfearn, presented Oscar with his ‘Outstanding Contribution’ award for his achievements, which include refereeing for local football club Cullercoats FC. Well done Oscar!
Thanks to everyone who came to both of our sold out Matilda shows this week. We hope you enjoyed the shows! Well done to both our casts who were absolutely brilliant both nights, and our fabulous technical crew!
Here are some pictures from Tuesday and Wednesday:
Yesterday, students had the opportunity to visit Kielder Observatory’s ‘Pop-up’ planetarium, right here in our own auditorium!
Students had a great time in the planetarium listening to the Science talks, with a lot of interesting questions being asked.
On Friday afternoon we were visited by Andrew Bailey, the Governor of the Bank of England, who came in to give a careers talk to Year 10s.
He also took questions from some of our Year 10 students about banking and the economy.
Our Year 9 netball team represented the school in the recent Tyne and Wear Championships, giving up their Saturday to take part, and performing brilliantly. Well done to everyone who took part!
