Our Year 8s have settled into their learning this week at the Langdale Centre site. Watch this short montage video to see how they have been getting on.
On Wednesday this week, students from Marden High School represented North Tyneside county in the Cross Country Championships at Temple Park in South Shields. Congratulations to Year 7 student Jack, who won his age group category – CLICK HERE to see Jack cross the finish line!

Jack and Lewis (Yr7) both celebrate their qualification!
Year 7 student Lewis also qualified, and there were successes in the other year groups too, with Year 8 student Oscar qualifying in the Year 8 & 9 category, and Year 11 student Katie will also go through to the Inter-County Championships.
There was also success from former Marden students, with Whitley High’s Josh Blevins winning in the Boys Year 12 category, and Holly Waugh coming fourth for the girls at the same age group.
Congratulations, and well done to all who took part!
Yesterday, Year 9 took part in TICE (This is Creative Enterprise), a brilliant opportunity for students to explore in full the scope the careers that exist within the commercial creative industries.
They developed their skills and career awareness with a textile session, learning about every aspect of the industry, from product research and funding, right through to producing their own products at the end of the day, using a variety of materials.
Take a look at a slideshow of photos from the day!
Our school has been selected to trial the new Till App for school meals. It will allow you and your child to see their balance, top up on ParentPay, check purchases and see their QR code.
The new App called Till App is available via Google Play or iOS App store. You will have been sent your unique registration code, so download when you receive it!
Please bear in mind that if a parent copies and pastes the 16 digit code, you will need to remove the hyphens between each 4 letters for the registration to work.
Till App is supported by the till company in school, so please do not contact your school with any queries. Please email [email protected] or visit www.tillapp.co.uk
Congratulations to Year 7 student Matthew, who won Gold nationally in the recent Judo Championships!
A spectacular achievement!

As we are unable to host our annual Christmas address from St. George’s Church, we instead share with you this recorded Christmas message. Happy Christmas to everyone.
Year 7 had a great day at the Langdale Centre yesterday, participating in a mix of academic, fun and festive activities. After a fortnight of remote learning due to the storm affected roof at school, it was great to see them again as they took part in a number of team building exercises in the morning, including a puzzling code cracking event!
They enjoyed a Christmas dinner, then spent the afternoon playing bingo and enjoyed a Christmas film screening, with popcorn and snacks kindly donated by Morrison’s Community Champion Gaynor!
Thanks to Gaynor for her tremendous donation, and thanks to all staff who organised and accompanied the students. It was great to see them all again!
A massive thank you to everyone who contributed to our food bank collection for the Bay Food Bank this year. Earlier this week, Year 10 students Alex and Max (who is currently campaigning to be the next Young Mayor of North Tyneside) visited the food bank to drop off Marden High’s contributions, which filled a whole car!
It was quite a contribution from all our community, especially considering that three year groups have not been able to be in the building this last fortnight due to the recent storm.
Thank you to everyone and have a great Christmas!
