Well done to the Class of 2017 for outstanding exam results this year. GCSE results at Marden continue to rise…
“There have been many happy faces in school this morning as our Class of 2017 have been in to collect their results. They have done very well and it is pleasing to see that outcomes for our students have continued to rise this year in spite of the standards bar being raised and GCSEs being designed to be more difficult.
Year 7 student Matthew Hood is an expert BMX rider, and recently took part in a number of competitions. After several medals for the U10 and U11 Novice categories, his latest medals and most recent two trophies were in the U12 Expert category.
Here are some photos of his awards and him in action in Preston and Braintree. Well done Matthew!
The next meeting of our Parent-Teacher Association will be on Thursday 14 September at 6:30pm in the LRC. On behalf of everyone at Marden we hope all our parents, carers and students have a great summer.
Thank you.
On Monday and Tuesday, Marden students enjoyed a variety of exciting activities. As well as trips to Lightwater Valley, there were quizzes, singing competitions, film screenings, sports activities, and as you can see from these pictures, Marden’s Great British Bake Off and a Year 7 and Year 8 trip to the Procter and Gamble offices!
A reminder that students will break up for the summer holidays this Friday at the earlier time of 1:30pm.
Thank you.
