Following the hard work of Marden’s governors, the school has raised funds to buy a minibus to be used for trips, activities and sports events. Governors Don Charlton and Anne Carlile handed over the keys to Mr. Morris and Year 11 students Neve, Isaac and Tom.
Year 6 students from Cullercoats Primary School have been at Marden all day enjoying lessons and getting to know the building. Here they are writing on the learning wall in the English department before setting off on a Marden Treasure Trail – Year 8 guides helped them with a Photography project, taking photos of different areas of the school.

On Friday the 24th of May pupils from several different Primary Schools in the local area visited Marden as part of their transition to High School this September.

Members of the school cabinet were today presented with a Healthy Schools award. Well done to everyone who has contributed towards making Marden a healthy school in 2013.
Recently, Year 11s have attended Mindfulness coaching sessions by Jill Cox; a series of discussions, exercises and breathing techniques designed to help control stress and recognise worry in the build up to exams. The BBC have taken a great interest in this unique experiment at Marden and visited us at today’s session.

As part of a ‘Comenius’ project, Marden are looking to get funding for a student and teacher exchange to Turkey in 2014. Mrs Noble visited Turkey over the Christmas holidays to make initial contact with Camlaralti College in Izmir.
