Our new building is well on schedule for its September 2016 opening, and today marked the official turf cutting ceremony, as local dignitaries, contractors and the mayor joined staff and students in commemorating this special event.

Following the recent highly publicised news stories of refugees fleeing their homes, altruistic Marden High students last term took part in a backpack campaign to help families affected by the crisis.
The recent campaign collected over 400 backpacks which have now been delivered to refugee camps in Calais and Kos.
Marden High School collected over 70 backpacks which is amazing! Thank you to everyone who donated and got involved, especially Mrs McHanwell’s Year 8 RE class, who helped raise money through sponsored silences!
Staff at Marden have recently raised a whopping £237 for Bright Red after an end of term barbecue.
Bright Red have invested over £5,000,000 helping improve patient care, supporting nursing staff development and pushing the boundaries of blood cancer research. They have played a major role in helping the Newcastle city region become one of the best places to be for those unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with a blood cancer.

As well as the student bake sale before half term, staff of Marden High raised more than £100 for Macmillan’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ on the 23rd October. Thanks everyone!
A non-uniform day and bake sale arranged by Year 11 student Lauren Rowley and the School Cabinet today has raised £822.87 so far for Macmillan Cancer Support. Well done to everyone who took part!

As our new building takes space in the shadow of our current one, construction firm Turner and Townsend have revealed an ambitious link up plan with Marden High, supporting our unique curriculum.
Yesterday, the school cabinet attended the annual Young Person’s Question Time at the Quadrant.

The leasing company have confirmed that the sign up deadline is Monday 23rd November in order to receive the device before Christmas.
