A grand total of £659.65 was raised for Beaumont House care home after our Christmas Jumper Day. Thanks to everyone for taking part.
Year 7 Historians have been developing their Historical Skills through work on the Suffragettes. They’ve been exploring bias and propaganda – especially the difference between the tactics of the Suffragettes (academic, logical arguments) and the anti-suffrage movement (bias, suggestion and emotive language).

The Year 8s have been taking part in an Art & Science Super Learning Day today, learning all about light, energy and colour.
After experimenting with light boxes and coloured ribbons in the morning, some of the group visited St. George’s Church and Cullercoats Methodist Church to get some inspiration for their Christmas themed stained glass windows, which they designed in the afternoon.
On the last day of term, Friday 22nd December, there will be an early finish. After lunch, everybody, apart from Year 11, will go down to St George’s Church for our school carol service, following which students will be dismissed from the church at approximately 2pm. Year 11 will be dismissed from school at 12.30pm, but are welcome to stay for lunch if required.
Please take the time to read this slideshow, appealing for donations for the Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter. Any donations of food and toys would be most welcome. Please bring them to reception.
Congratulations to this week’s top workers!
Well done Holly and Ashton (Yr7); Liv, Owen and Molly (Yr8); James, Caitlyn and Caitlain (Yr9); and Samiul, Craig, Millie, Jaden and Lauren (Yr10).
This Friday 15 December is our Christmas Jumper Day at Marden High. Students can pay £1 to purchase a wristband on the gate for the non-uniform day which is raising money for our chosen charity, the Beaumont House care home.
Thank you.
This week is the last chance to buy raffle tickets to enter our Grand Christmas Raffle! The draw will be made this Friday lunchtime during our Christmas Jumper Day, and winners will be notified by phone.
