Cross-Country Success

On Friday 17th November a number of students took part in the Cross Country Championships at Churchill Playing Fields. Well done to those who qualified for the next stage, the County Championships.

Bima Digital Day

GCSE Computer Science students from Year 10 and a select few Year 9 students took part in a Bima Digital Day on the 14th November. Here are a few photos of the event, in which the students had to plan and pitch an innovative new digital design with a STEM theme.
Shortlisted for the National Competition were: Joel Campbell, Alex Robson, Lewis Aldous, Tom Lea, Reece Maddison, Jamie Roll, Nathan Lough, Jack Gibson, Tyler Scott Lepan, Natalia Potts, Woody Martin and Aaron Hughes.

Grand Christmas Raffle

Marden’s Parent-Teacher Association are holding a Grand Christmas Raffle at the end of this term. Each student has been issued with a book of five raffle tickets to take home. If you would like to buy a raffle ticket, please fill in your details on the stubs and return to the school reception with your money. Tickets are £1 each. Alternatively, if you do not want to take part, please return any unused stubs.
The draw will be made on the 15th of December, with some great prizes on offer:
1st: Close House Golf for 4 (worth approx. £400)
2nd: Bed & Breakfast for 2 at the Village Hotel
3rd: Luxury Christmas Hamper (worth over £100)
Other prizes include a Mr Woods voucher, Nicholson’s Butchers Voucher, Lego Bundle, Board Games Bundle, Mini Hampers, Wine and Toiletries. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Marden High PTA.

Elizabeth Clarke came the closest to guess the sweets in the jar with her guess of 174. The number of sweets in the jar was 189.
