The following students took part in a friendly tennis match vs Kings Priory at Priors Park on Tuesday, 20th May.

In the Under 12’s match the students included:-

Kijah-Star Wardsmith/Amelia Gates.

The final score was a win to Kings Priory 31 – 22 games.

This was the Under 12’s first match and they played very well, displaying good sportsmanship and commitment.

Well done to all students and particularly to those who have qualified for the County Championships on Saturday, 16th June 2014 at Gateshead Stadium.

13 x Year 11 students represented Marden in the North Tyneside Under 16 Rounders tournament held at John Spence on Thursday 24th April.

Squad members included:
Jessica Jackson, Issie smith, Ellie Burn, Millie Elsdon, Chloe Bridges, Becca Cummins, Georgia Hogg, Abbie White, Alisha Hansen, Megan Larkin, Megan Jackson, Alex Shaw and Sammy Malik.

Results were:-

vs John Spence won 4-3 1/2
vs Thomas More lost 7 – 8
vs Longbenton lost 5 – 5 1/2

Well done to all those who took part and were a credit to themselves and the school.

Valley Gardens 3 – 1 Marden High

The Year 8s put up a great fight against a Valley Gardens team that had previously hammered them 8-0 in Year 7, but ultimately lost out 3-1 and were knocked out of the cup, despite a corking consolation strike from Dan McGee. Well done to all the lads who took part, it has definitely been a much improved year this time round!
