For the third year running, Marden High School took part in Takeover Day, run by the Children’s Commission. Once again, and based on the success of last year’s experiment, we turned this into Takeover Week, as students took over all aspects of the school and got their point across in staff meetings, as well as delivering lessons, working on reception and working in the school kitchen. Maintaining our strong links with the BBC, Year 9 and 10 students have been working with BBC journalist Judith Burns on an article about the 1944 Education Act. Look out for the report, including video and audio footage, in the near future.
Year 11 students today received excellent GCSE results for their Maths and English exams taken last year!
More success for the Sports teams at Marden, as the final league table for the U16 Boys Basketball league reveals our table topping success, following six wins out of six, and our U14 team have also won every game so far this year! Well done!
This time lapse shows off all the hard work by the Year 8s during Monday’s Super Learning Day, as three teams of Artists, Scientists and Media gurus created their own stained glass windows out of paper and lit up the East Wing of the school for Marden Lumiere 2013. It was a festive and fitting way to end this term; Merry Christmas to everyone from Marden High School!
