We would like to share the PE & School Sport Team’s “Weekly Challenge”. This week was due to be the North Tyneside Schools Dance Festival over 4 nights. We hope to still celebrate this by inviting you to take part in “Icons” Virtual Dance Festival 2020.
We would like as many young people to be involved as possible, not only from those schools who were due to perform in the festival this week but those who performed in the North Shields festival earlier this month.
We would like the young people’s creations to be submitted via social media using the @NorthTynesidePE handle by 12pm on Friday 3rd April or students could simply complete this & perform at home with their families!
For all students working from home, please follow these instructions as guidance.

Marden High School is rising to the challenge of Sport Relief and have put together a series of events over the week. We would love you to encourage our students in raising money for this great charity, and have set up a JUST GIVING page so that parents, carers and extended members of our community can donate!
Row-a-thon: On Thursday we will undertake 12 hours of rowing from 7am to 7pm, students and teachers will keep the rowing machines going by taking a 10 minute slot throughout the day!
Walk-a-thon: Between Monday 9th and Friday 13th March, we are collectively walking 603 miles (970 km), the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats. We need to do 2425 laps of the school field!!
Sports Quiz: Hosted by the PTA, this takes place on Thursday 12th March at 6:30pm. Come along and put in a team for the great Marden High Sports Quiz, and be there to cheer the rowers home as they finish the 12 hour session!
Guess the weight of the fruit bowl and Guess what is in the locker are two other events happening in our LRC throughout the week.
In addition, students are invited to wear their PE kit to school on Thursday, for Sport Relief, for no additional contribution.
The PTA are hosting a sports themed quiz next Thursday, from 6:30 until 8:00pm. During that time we will also be wrapping up our 12 hour Sport Relief Row-a-thon! Get along to show your support and have a fun night, with costumes, prizes, snacks and smoothies!
Open Morning for prospective parents/carers is coming up on Friday 13th March. For more details please contact the school.
