A big thank you to everyone who donated food and goodies for the Newcastle cat & dog shelter. Winston the dog came to school today to gratefully accept our donations!
Students in Access presented Age UK with a cheque for £105, after the latest of our fundraising activities last week, coinciding with our Christmas jumper day, which also raised funds for cat and dog shelters and Cash For Kids.

Marden has excelled itself once more with our fundraising efforts, Metro Radio’s Courage the Cat came in this afternoon to collect all the gifts students brought in for the Cash For Kids appeal, and donations were also make to Age UK. Well done!
Stephen Riley, director of M10 Missions, recently visited Marden High to talk about his fundraising project, giving 16 – 18 year olds a chance of a lifetime to travel to Mexico and build a house for a family who needs it.
Congratulations to Year 10 Rebecca Moore of the UK Youth Parliament , who has won the ‘Make a Difference’ award at the British Youth Council’s 2014 Youth on Board award. Well done Rebecca!
On Friday 5th September, Year 10 and 11 students took in a matinee production of ‘Death at Dawn’, a Peter Mortimer play produced by Cloud Nine Theatre Productions as part of the Tynemouth World War One Commemoration Project.
The students were stunned by a thrilling and moving original production staged at the Linskill Centre in North Shields.
After a recent non-uniform day, Marden High has received grateful thanks from the Rainbow Centre in Sri Lanka following our fundraising efforts.
For the third year running, Marden High School took part in Takeover Day, run by the Children’s Commission. Once again, and based on the success of last year’s experiment, we turned this into Takeover Week, as students took over all aspects of the school and got their point across in staff meetings, as well as delivering lessons, working on reception and working in the school kitchen.
