This year, a class of Year 7 students have been working on a cross-curricular project between the Technology and Media Studies departments; this term their task was to create a digital media marketing campaign promoting careers in STEM!
Over twelve lessons, two groups of four went head-to-head as rival teams and designed team logos, posters and campaign videos, as well as learning about careers in STEM and the importance of brand identity and media marketing.
This gave Year 7 the opportunity to take part in some practical Media Studies lessons and expand their knowledge on STEM careers, and in particular they chose to focus on a campaign to try and encourage more women to get into STEM careers. At the end of the project they presented confidently to a staff panel.
Well done to everyone who worked so hard!
Another intrepid group will now take on the task over the coming weeks. For a more in-depth look at what they have been getting up to, CLICK HERE to visit the dedicated project page on our website.
The Art department are delighted to announce the four winners of their recent competition, in which students and staff voted from a shortlist of twelve selected pieces of art.
The four winning pieces of artwork will now be used as the cover for next year’s academic planner.
Thanks to all who took part and well done to Bridie (Year 7), Natasha (Year 10), Stella (Year 8) and Lucy (Year 9).
