Between 4pm and 7pm this evening we are delighted to host a private viewing of this year’s Year 11 Art and Photography students work, for all parents, carers, family and friends. The exhibition will take place in the Sports Hall and refreshments will be provided.
On Wednesday, Year 10 RE students had the opportunity to visit the Holy Island of Lindisfarne to learn more about their studies of Christianity.
Their first opportunity for a school trip for more than two years, the students took in Lindisfarne Castle, admired the cairns on the beach and learned about the life of Saint Cuthbert, who ran the monastery there during the 7th Century before living a life of solitude on the nearby Farne Islands.
The students walked around the island and even had time for an ice cream at the end of the day. Year 11 will have the same opportunity on the last day before Easter, this Friday.
Three Year 11 students departed this morning and will spend this weekend at Oxford University, learning about the city, university life, the types of study available and take part in various lectures and revision sessions.
A presentation from St. Anne’s College in Oxford was very well attended this morning, as Year 9, 10 and 11 learned all about university; from applying and studying to the cost and requirements.
