TERM 1

Content

In Yr11, students in core lessons are given the opportunity to improve their own levels of fitness and remain actively engaged in physical activity.  A programme of activities will follow through from Yr10 and will involve outdoor as well as indoor sessions.  Personal endeavour and positive teamwork will both be a focus. The ultimate aim is to promote active involvement so that students will continue to follow a healthy lifestyle once they leave school.

 

Skills

Further refinement of skills and technique linked to a range of games activities which will involve tactical awareness and application. Improvement of fitness components and application of skill within exercise circuits, trampolining and aerobics.  Further development of leadership skills whilst adopting key roles such as officials, organisers and coaches.

 

TERM 2

Content

Where possible an option pathway will be offered so that students are able to engage in activities they prefer. This is dependent upon staffing and the availability of indoor areas.  At this time links with the local college are utilized so that taster sessions can be offered in preparation for possible post 16 pathways.
