On Saturday, our History Detectives walked around Cullercoats and placed blue plaques on houses where fallen soldiers had lost their lives during the First World War.

To Parents/Carers of Year 11
From Monday 8 June 2015 all Yr 11 students should attend school for exams and lessons in those subjects in which they have still to take an exam.
ALL science lessons are still scheduled and will concentrate on the science subjects in which the exam has yet to occur,
Private study facilities and teacher support are available in school at all times for all year 11 students if they wish to use them.
A signing in and out system for year 11 students will operate in reception.

BBC Radio 4’s Any Questions? is coming to Marden High this Friday evening, chaired by Ritula Shah, and although we have now sold out our ticket allocation, we can reveal that the four panelists to appear will be:
David Davis – Conservative Party politician who is the current elected Member of Parliament for the parliamentary constituency of Haltemprice and Howden.
Rushanara Ali – Rushanara is the Labour Member of Parliament for Bethnal Green and Bow
Peter Hennessy – English historian and academic specialising in the history of government
Tommy Sheppard – Scottish National Party politician and the MP for Edinburgh East since May 2015

Our PE teacher Miss Davis is the Ambassador for the Newcastle Falcons Rugby4All programme and at the weekend was involved in a Guinness World Record before the Bath vs. Saracens Aviva Premiership Rugby final. The World Record attempt, which has been verified, was the worlds largest human equation.

Year 11 student Hannah Sparkes is raising money for a Newcastle Freeman Hostpital based charity, Charlie Bear for Cancer Care, and has made a tremendous sacrifice, shaving her head in support of her mum, who is undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
